Start with the job, not a connector ranking
A fixed “top connectors” list becomes outdated and may not fit your work. Define the small task you want to improve, then determine whether an integration is needed at all.
- Document access: locate approved briefs or guidelines while retaining links to the originals.
- Project review: inspect authorised task status without treating a summary as confirmation.
- Data exploration: work with an approved dataset and preserve the metric definitions.
- Research support: retrieve candidate sources that you still open and verify yourself.
Run a permission review before connecting
Do not paste access tokens into ordinary prompts. An AI-generated setup instruction is not a substitute for current vendor documentation or your organisation’s approval process.
- Identify the official provider and the exact account or workspace being connected.
- Check whether access is read-only or includes creating, editing, sending or deleting.
- Confirm whose permissions apply and whether customer or confidential information is exposed.
- Learn how to revoke access and where activity can be inspected.
- Test with a limited account or non-sensitive files before expanding access.
A contained marketing test
A checklist worth keeping
- Is the integration official or otherwise approved for your environment?
- Is the requested access narrower than the permissions you normally use?
- Can the result be checked against a source and reversed if something changes?
- Are confidential fields and unnecessary personal data excluded?
- Will a human approve every customer-facing or account-changing action?
